Trade Waste Upgrades
Overview
In response to urgent environmental and infrastructure challenges, TPG Projects completed the "Trade Waste Upgrades 2023" project. This initiative focused on addressing leaks in trade waste and stormwater systems that risked contamination of the local groundwater and nearby Creek. The upgrade was critical to maintaining environmental standards and ensuring the reliability of essential facilities.
Project Scope
The project included comprehensive inspections, excavation, and replacement of damaged trade waste and stormwater pipes, along with sump and concrete slab installations. These updates protect the infrastructure from future ground movement impacts caused by heavy truck deliveries in the area.
Key Benefits
-
Environmental Protection
Prevents contamination of Puhinui Creek, safeguarding local ecosystems.
-
Enhanced Durability
Reinforced concrete slabs and pipe replacements protect infrastructure from damage, reducing the risk of costly repairs.
-
Operational Efficiency
Ensures a secure waste management system that meets regulatory standards and supports uninterrupted operations.
Outcome:
TPG successfully delivered the Trade Waste Upgrades 2023 project at a major manufacturing site in Wiri, addressing critical environmental and infrastructure risks. The $830,000 project focused on replacing aging trade waste and stormwater systems to maintain compliance and ensure long-term reliability.
The scope included CCTV inspections, hydro and mechanical excavation, sump replacement, and installation of new trade waste and stormwater pipework. A reinforced concrete slab was installed above the repaired area to protect against future ground movement caused by heavy truck deliveries.
Completed on a fast-tracked timeline with minimal disruption to operations, the project improves infrastructure resilience and supports ongoing environmental performance standards.
